Steve Calcutt Bio

I was born and raised in Florence County, South Carolina, having lived in Johnsonville where I graduated from high school in 1980. I attended and graduated from Newberry College in 1984. After teaching school for two years in Clinton, SC, I attended law school at Mercer University in Macon, Georgia where I graduated in May 1989.

I began practicing law in Florence with the Wukela Law Firm after graduating from law school in 1989 where I worked until August 1992 when I opened my own law firm. The Calcutt Law Fiem has been opened for business ever since.

I have been happily married to Donna since July 1984, and we have three young adult children, Sarah Kate, Aimee, and Steven. Along the way, I have served on various church councils and committees at St. Luke Lutheran Church and the S.C. Synod of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America; several S.C. Bar Association commissions; served as speaker at many seminars and programs on topics related to Social Security Disability Law; coached little league baseball; and run in a number of road races.

I am a member of the South Carolina Bar Association, the Georgia Bar Association, the South Carolina Trial Lawyer’s Association, and the National Organization of Social Security Claimants Representatives (NOSSCR). I am a past Chairman of the Social Security section of the S.C Trial Lawyer’s Association. I am also a member of the U.S. District Court for the District of South Carolina; the 4th Circuit Court of Apeals; and the United States Supreme Court.
